Advocacy & Holistic Approach 

Although, anxiety is not a specific learning difficulty (SpLD), studies have shown that young people with learning difficulties are far more likely to experience feelings of anxiety and low self esteem. A great amount of behaviour (from learners with SpLD) is also down to frustration.

 

To alleviate this anxiety, I have followed a holistic approach, always encouraging a positive atmosphere. 

 

If learners want to learn strategies specifically to support exam anxiety or nerves they can request the sessions to include techniques such as meditation & breathing exercises at the beginning & end of lessons.
